Your Perfect 5-Minute Makeup Routine

Make your mornings work better for you by implementing YOUR perfect 5-minute makeup routine.

There is no perfect one-size-fits-all makeup routine because in order to be the most efficient and effective in such a quick period of time, it needs to be customized to your unique needs.

Here are my top 5 tips for creating the best made-for-you makeup routine to get you ready to take on your day!

Are you most concerned about dark under eye circles, or thin brows? Perhaps you’re most concerned about hyperpigmentation, or acne? Whatever it may be, this is where you want to spend your time.

If there are features that you’re okay leaving as they are, such if you already have well-groomed brows, or if you don’t like wearing foundation, then you can and absolutely should skip those steps.

Personally, my biggest concerns include evening out my complexion and giving some oomph to my lashes, so I tend to focus on foundation, concealer and mascara, and skip lip products.

Make your makeup routine work for you, not the other way around!

Let’s work smarter, not harder!

Incorporate products that are multi-purpose, such as a tinted sunscreen so you can skip foundation, or a single product that you can use on your eyes, cheeks and lips. This will save a ton of time!

Use products that you don’t need to apply with precision or blend to perfection. Products that you can, for lack of a better term, slap on and go, are the absolute best. I tend to gravitate towards cream and liquid products for this.

Avoid fumbling with extra tools and brushes and choose products that can be effortlessly applied and blended with your fingers. I again tend to gravitate towards creams and liquid formulations for this reason.

This is a very specific step, but I find it makes a world of difference in helping everyone to look awake and eyes more open.

And not just any lash curler will do, unfortunately. I find that many lash curlers from the drugstore just don’t give the bang for their buck.

I much prefer to use lash curlers from Shu Uemura (my favorite), Shiseido and NARS. Even if you opt to skip mascara, this step will make a big impact.
