Elevated Top 5: Eye-Popping Makeup

Eye Makeup Favorites from My Personal Makeup Bag

Want to make your eyes pop, appear more open, well-rested and youthful? I’m sharing my tried and true eye makeup products (and steps) that I use every. single. time. I do my own makeup. I think you’ll love them as much as I do!

Curling my lashes is a GAME CHANGER. In two seconds, my eyes look more open and awake, and I just feel prettier. But, not all lash curlers are created equal. I’ve yet to meet a lash curler from the drugstore that really performs. Lash curlers made in Japan or South Korea provide the most amazing results, and my favorite is the Shiseido Eyelash Curler.

PRO TIP: I curl my lashes as a first step. Curling them after applying eyeshadow and eyeliner can remove some of the makeup from the lash line, and cause small clumps of eyeliner to get pressed into the lashes, creating a clumpy base for mascara.

There are a ton of eyeshadow palettes out there, but this one is just super easy. There are four manageable shades, all of which are wearable and versatile. I use every single shade and can create a few different looks. I don’t like buying palettes with colors that I’ll rarely use – it feels wasteful and I don’t want to dedicate space in my drawer to large palettes I don’t fully use.

Are you sick of me professing my love for this liner yet? I can’t stop. I want gorgeous pigment that won’t run and lasts all day long, even in the waterline – this fully delivers. It’s buttery soft so you can use a very light hand while applying; no need to tug your eyelid. If you want to smudge it or smoke it out, it blends beautifully.

This product has been in my makeup bag since high school – over twenty years. I don’t know how many tubes I’ve gone through. My lashes are naturally almost non-existent, and this product makes them look soooo much longer, fuller, and more curled. I’ve tried a few others on the market, but nothing has compared. I guess I’m a lifer.

PRO TIP: Apply one generous coat and let dry for about a minute (so it’s ALMOST dry) before applying mascara.

This tubing mascara packs a PUNCH. I almost can’t believe how it takes my lashes from barely there to having extreme length, volume and curl. That combined with the fact that it doesn’t run or smudge makes this product a unicorn. LANCOME Cils Booster XL + Thrive Causmetics mascara = gold.
